CLEANING

  • After use, sanitize your board by wiping all surfaces down with mild dish soap and water.

  • Dry thoroughly.

MAINTENANCE

  • As required (approximately once per month depending upon the frequency of use), apply an even coat of board oil to all surfaces of your wood board using a cloth or disposable towel. You may need more frequent oiling when you first receive the board due to changes in humidity.

  • Allow the oil to fully penetrate through the wood fibers (12-24 hours) then wipe off any excess oil. Apply additional oil to any visible dry spots and wipe away any excess oil after cure time.

  • Apply a thin layer of wood wax and buff away any excess after 15 minutes. Wood wax will add extra protection from moisture while bringing out the vivid color and grain of the wood. Any food grade cutting board oil and food grade wood wax will do, but we recommend Walrus Oil & Walrus Oil Wood Wax.

DO NOT use any harsh chemicals, put your board in the dishwasher, soak in the sink, or allow liquids of any type to stand on the board for long periods of time. Charcuterie Boards are not meant to be used as a cutting board! Do not use serrated knives or any sawing action.
